It Started...

My journey to writing started with overly-dramatic diary and journal entries which mutated into equally drastic poetry.

 

It started with my Armenian-American family who traveled extensively, opening my eyes to the beauty of differences.​

 

It started when I wrote my masters thesis on nature inclusion.

 

It started when I found joy in writing for the children I worked with as a way to help them navigate difficult subjects, or to jumpstart a curriculum. ​​

 

It started when my husband, and our two (then) 6 year olds lived abroad for a year, and I woke with the howler monkeys to write the first draft of my very first novel.

 

​And it continues, even as I am seven years into revising that same novel, all the while taking classes, learning about publishing and how to 'market'. It continues as I start my memoir, query my children's books, homeschool my two (now) 12 year olds, and dealing with the everyday intricacies of life.
